Marielle Côté-Gendreau
I am a PhD Candidate in Demography and Social Policy at Princeton University, advised by Alícia Adserà, Leah Boustan and Filiz Garip. I mainly study migration and its determinants using rich, large-scale historical data. My dissertation work was funded by Canada's Social Science and Humanities Research Council and the Fonds de recherche du Québec. I am supported in my final year of study by the Charlotte Elizabeth Procter Fellowship, awarded by Princeton University for outstanding academic achievement.
I am part of the Research Program in Historical Demography at the Université de Montréal, where I work on improving and expanding the Population Register of Historic Quebec. This project, which I have been involved with since 2016, is what first got me into demography.
Starting in September 2026, I will be a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse (Toulouse School of Economics).
